What We Believe

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”

John 3:16

Our Faith

We believe that there is one God who is three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit; that Jesus is true man and true God; that Jesus died for the sins of the world and rose from the grave, defeating sin, death, and the devil; and that Jesus will come again to redeem God’s children.

Our Teachings

Our core teachings are found in the Book of Concord, which is a collection of the foundational documents of the Lutheran church. They help us to understand what the Bible says about the Christian faith. Martin Luther provided three simple but powerful ideas to help us remember what is important:

Grace Alone

God’s grace is His unconditional love for you and me. We rebel against Him daily, but He blesses us nonetheless because of what Jesus did on the cross.

Faith Alone

The only thing we can do for our salvation is to believe Jesus died on the Cross and bore the punishment for our sins. Everything else we do in the name of God is only an act of thankfulness.

Scripture Alone

The Bible is the Word of God. It reveals God’s Law, which convicts us of sin, and it teaches the Good News of the work of Jesus Christ, which encourages our hearts.
