“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”
We believe that there is one God who is three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit; that Jesus is true man and true God; that Jesus died for the sins of the world and rose from the grave, defeating sin, death, and the devil; and that Jesus will come again to redeem God’s children.
Our core teachings are found in the Book of Concord, which is a collection of the foundational documents of the Lutheran church. They help us to understand what the Bible says about the Christian faith. Martin Luther provided three simple but powerful ideas to help us remember what is important:
God loves you and me despite our rebellion against Him. To show us this love, He sent Jesus, His Son, to save us from certain judgment and death.
Jesus died on the Cross and bore the punishment we deserved for our rebellion against God. If you believe this, you are an heir of God’s heavenly kingdom!
The Bible is the inerrant and infallible Word of God and the sole rule and norm for Christian doctrine. The Bible reveals God’s Law, which convicts us of sin, and the Good News of the work of Christ, which ushers us into eternal life.
